Carson City High School Jazz Band to perform at celebration
The Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety will celebrate the renovation of the full service 24,480 square foot facility Monday, April 12 from noon-1:00pm. The office is located at 555 Wright Way off Stewart Street. The office is open Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Funded by the 1997 Legislature's Capitol Improvement Program at a cost of $700,000.00, the newly renovated area houses Drivers License, Registration, Motor Carrier, Administrative Hearings and the Bureau of Enforcement. The new full-service office was designed specifically for the new "one stop shopping" concept that all statewide DMV & PS offices will offer by mid 1999.
"We are pleased to announce the opening of the renovated Carson City office," said John Drew, Acting Director of the DMV & PS. This facility will provide first time or long time Carson City area DMV & PS customers an attractive and efficient environment to conduct DMV & PS business."
The grand re-opening ceremony will begin at noon at the Carson City facility. Special guests include: Senator Bill O'Donnell, Registration Chief Pete English and Project Genesis Manager Donna West. Refreshments, media interviews, entertainment by the Carson City Jazz Band and tours of the area will be available after the ceremony.
