Avoid the Drive with a “DMV in a Box”
New services offered at neighborhood locations

The Nevada DMV has released special printable maps that show the 45 statewide locations of its popular self-service kiosks.  Motorists can clip and keep them on the refrigerator at home as a reminder to use a “DMV in a Box” whenever possible.

“Avoid the drive to a DMV and the lines inside by using a ‘DMV in a Box’ in your neighborhood,” said Director Bruce Breslow. “They’re fast, fun and, most importantly, convenient.  There’s a kiosk near you.”

The DMV has “DMV in a Box” kiosks at department offices, AAA offices, supermarkets, convenience stores and university campuses. The complete list and maps are available at  Locations are also listed on the DMV’s iPhone application.

If you have lost your driver’s license or ID card, you can now order a duplicate at a kiosk and have it mailed to you. Kiosks can also renew your car registration and dispense the license plate decal on the spot.  The other kiosk transactions are license and ID card renewals, driver history printouts and insurance suspension reinstatements.

The expansion of the kiosk program is made possible by a processing fee now charged on each transaction. Registration renewals cost an extra $3 and the other services are subject to a $1 fee.  The fees are less than a gallon of gasoline and also save the motorist the time spent visiting a DMV office.

The Nevada DMV kiosks have won five national awards from the self-service industry.
