Reno Trooper Places First in International Competition

Commercial Inspection Competition Recognizes Officers in North America

Reno Trooper Mike Marsteller took home first place in the North American Inspector Championships (NAIC) August 16-21, in Tampa, Florida. Trooper Marsteller competed against 56 officers representing the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico in the Hazardous Materials/Cargo Tank Inspections contest. Officers were tested on practical commercial enforcement skills, which included the following types of vehicles: Six axle commercial vehicle, tour bus and hazardous material cargo tank.

The NAIC is an international event developed to recognize commercial inspectors and officers. The competition promotes uniformity of inspections throughout North American and it is held annually in conjunction with the American Trucking Association's National Truck Driving Championships.

Trooper Marsteller is a nine year veteran of the NHP and has served 12 years in law enforcement for the State of Nevada.
