Retired Military Vehicle License Plate Application

The Department of Motor Vehicles is now accepting applications for a special license plate and vehicle registration for retired military vehicles. The DMV must receive 25 applications and private funding of the startup costs before the plate can be produced.

This application only expresses interest in obtaining the plate/registration. The DMV will notify you when the plates actually go into production.

Please fill out the following form and click "Submit".

Submit your name and either a valid email address (preferred) or a telephone number and the type of retired military vehicle you own. Your information will not be shared or used for any other purpose.

I certify that I own one or more vehicles that are eligible for the Retired Military Vehicle license plate and registration. I intend to obtain the plate/registration(s) once available.

The Retired Military Vehicle license plate and vehicle registration were authorized by the 2019 Nevada Legislature. See Senate Bill 356.

“Retired military vehicle” means any vehicle or trailer, regardless of size, weight or year of manufacture, that was manufactured for use in the military forces of any country and is maintained to depict or represent military design or markings. The term includes, without limitation, armored vehicles, passenger cars, half-track vehicles, motorcycles, pick-up trucks, sport utility vehicles, tracked vehicles, trailers, trucks and truck-tractors.

The vehicle must be at least 20 years old to qualify for plates and registration. The vehicle must not be used for general transportation but may be used for exhibitions, parades, charitable events, fundraisers or similar activities.

See SB 356 for more details on vehicle equipment and driver's license requirements.

The plate will be produced on the standard Home Means Nevada background. Fees will be $25 for an initial registration and $10 for an annual renewal in addition to all other applicable registration fees.
